Joel’s work in short and long form productions and photo shoots is beyond comprehensive. His projects have varied in size and scope – from PSAs to the multi-million dollar NBC U “Mondo” UpFront shoot.
Joel began his career at WDNH radio in Honesdale, PA when he was 14. After graduating with honors from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, he joined RBI Communications as a production coordinator and criss-crossed the country to work on regional advertising. Then he moved to the Big City to seek fame and fortune – what he found was twenty years of hard, fulfilling work in production.
In that time he has produced commercials, infomercials and PBS series. He produced the VH1 series “Can’t Get A Date”, the PBS series “New York Expeditions”, and commercials for Snickers, GE, IBM, Fruit by the Foot, Purina, Van Heusen, Ritz Crackers and Pepsi. His network promos include Mo Rocca’s “My Grandmother’s Ravioli”, “White Collar” “Body Human” and others.
For NBC’s Mondo, he coordinated the schedules of more than 50 celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Matt Lauer, John Cena and Christian Slater, and oversaw a staff of hundreds. Actor/Producer Mark Feurstein remarked on Joel’s expertise: "This Mondo shoot was truly the tightest most organized, well-run Mondo shoot I've ever had!” And Joan Rivers tweeted, “Had a great time at the NBC upfront shoot! Lots of work – but AMAZINGLY well run!”
Joel’s most recent project was producing a commercial for Fisherman’s Friend featuring the star of Broadway’s Les Miserables, Alfie Boe.
Joel lives in cutting edge Greenpoint, Brooklyn with his dog, Rocious.
